Philip A. Cusick is professor of educational administration at Michigan State University. At various times, he has served as a high school teacher, school administrator, professor of education and university administrator.
In addition to numerous research and journal articles, Cusick is the author of Inside High School, The Egalitarian Ideal and The American High School, The Educational System: Its Nature and Logic and A Passion for Learning, The Education of Seven Eminent Americans. He is a co-author of Selling Students Short.
His academic interests are in secondary schools, organizational theory, educational research and educational policies.
In addition to his residence in East Lansing, Michigan, Cusick lives on a farm in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.
