Yasmin Shiraz

Yasmin Shiraz is the nationally acclaimed author of The Blueprint for My Girls, a series for teen girls to utilize as a tool of guidance, inspiration and empowerment. Shiraz is highly sought after by radio and TV as a youth expert, appearing on FOX, ABC, NBC and CBS news affiliates nationwide. Her second empowerment book for teens, The Blueprint for My Girls in Love: 99 Rules for Dating, Relationships and Intimacy, was released in June 2005 by Simon & Schuster, followed by The Blueprint Guide to Motivation & Success released in January 2006 by Herff Jones.

Shiraz is the chief executive officer of The Signals Agency, a niche-marketing firm which creates branding opportunities and events for corporations and youth focused companies. Her agency has worked with the YWCA, Illinois State University, Girls Inc., the University of Delaware, Girl Scouts, the U.S. Postal Service, Planned Parenthood, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics and Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. among others.

An avid believer of literacy and publishing, Shiraz heads Rolling Hills Press, an independent book publishing company which released Shiraz’s debut novel in 2005, EXCLUSIVE, and in 2006 released its sequel, PRIVACY. As a contributing writer and journalist, Shiraz’s works have been featured in Black Enterprise magazine, Upscale magazine, the anthology Aunties: Not Just Another Mother, The Electronic Urban Report and others.

Shiraz holds both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in sociology from Hampton University and Morehead State University, respectively.
