Poverty on American streets. The HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Darfur genocide. Slavery. These problems, and more, cry for our attention. But the United States cannot be “all things to all people.” The government, the media and a plethora of non-profit organizations all play roles in response to these crises. But what is an appropriate role for the youth of America today? What information do young citizens need in order to become part of the solution, and where can they find it?
