Corey Sobel

Corey Sobel

Corey Sobel is a research associate for African and Chechen activists at the National Endowment for Democracy. As an activist, Sobel focuses on various human rights issues, including the stigmatization of people with HIV in Central Kenya and the neglected rise of HIV in the southern U.S.

Sobel has written for Esquire,
Esquire.com, The Chapel Hill News, Duke Magazine and the Duke Journal of Public Affairs.

He graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in May 2007. There, he completed a self-designed major, Writing Conflict: Reporting International and Ethnic Violence, a course of study examining the intersection of ethics, ethnic violence and journalism.
