Christine Kaestle

Dr. Christine Kaestle is an assistant professor in human development at Virginia Tech, where she teaches research methods, gender and family diversity, and human sexuality. She is a health behaviorist specializing in risk behaviors during adolescence and emerging adulthood Dr. Kaestle’s work uses a life-course perspective to examine the intersection of sexual behaviors, aggression and violence, substance abuse, and the media as they influence health outcomes during this critical period of development.

Dr. Kaestle’s publications include articles in the American Journal of Epidemiology, Journal of Adolescent Health, Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Prevention Science.

She received her training in the field of Public Health at UCLA and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
