Marlene Dalley

Dr. Marlene Dalley served in the development of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s National Missing Children Services program for 20 years. In the beginning stages of the program, she worked as a consultant with the RCMP Task Force in an effort to establish and develop a missing children’s program that would assist law enforcement.
 
Prior to working with the RCMP, Dr. Dalley held the position of professor at the University of New Brunswick, Algonquin College and the University of Ottawa. For two years, she served as an advisor to the Solicitor General of Canada on children and youth issues. Following this posting, she worked with RCMP Management Services for several years and conducted a national study involving the alignment of the RCMP police services.
 
Dalley has written three books on child development, numerous articles and papers on missing children issues, including the NMCS annual Reference Report, a Stranger Abduction and a Parental Abduction research study report. The reports are available at www.ourmissingchildren.gc.ca and on loan from the Canadian Police College library, Ottawa.
 
She holds a Ph.D. from Florida State University in Education/Child and Youth Development and has police investigative training as related to missing and exploited children. She also is certified in Alternate Dispute Resolution and Mediation.  Marlene is married and has two grown sons.
