Meghan McCain was propelled into the national spotlight at an early age when her father, U.S. Senator John McCain, ran for president in 2008.

McCain’s unparalleled exposure to American politics gave her the opportunity to hear voters debate the most complex issues first-hand from the campaign trail. She launched McCainBlogette.com, which has been recognized with The Golden Dot Award for Best Blog, and two Pollie Awards from the Association of Political and Public Affairs Professionals.

McCain’s political positions have been discussed by some of the most prominent voices in politics, from Karl Rove to Laura Ingraham and Rush Limbaugh. As a columnist for “The Daily Beast,” McCain often responds to her own party’s attacks, but also discusses America’s most challenging issues with a clear objective: to help the Republican Party expand and survive.

Raised in Phoenix, Ariz., McCain graduated from Columbia University with a degree in art history. With ambitions to pursue a career in music journalism, she completed internships at “Newsweek” and “Saturday Night Live.”

Meghan’s time on the campaign trail inspired her write “Dirty Sexy Politics: A True Story” and “My Dad, John McCain.”
