What is America’s purpose in the world? Does it have a purpose in the world? To what extent should the nation’s foreign policy seek to promote democracy and human rights abroad, even to the point of military intervention? Or should military options be more limited, focusing primarily on national defense and the protection of American interests? What ethical considerations should guide America’s military involvement with the world?
