Sustainability, Universal Human Rights and United Nations Millennium Development Goals

United Nations Millennium Development Goal No. 7 has the following four targets: Integrate the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programs and reverse the loss of environmental resources; 2) Reduce biodiversity loss, achieving, by 2010, a significant reduction in the rate of loss; 3) By 2015, reduce by halve the proportion of the population without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation; and 4) By 2020, achieve significant improvement in the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers. Realistically, are any of these targets likely to be achieved?
