2009 PUBLIC AFFAIRS CONFERENCE
There are approximately 1.4 million named species living on earth today; while estimates of the total number of extinct species ranges from 4-100 million. While many may outlive our species, it is impossible to argue that we do not affect other species and cause extinction today, and will continue to do so into the future. Humans clearly modify environments and impact species’ survival. What consideration should humans have for other species, and is the sustainability revolution moving forward in a way that considers and preserves species?
