Zack Exley

Senior advisor, Bernie Sanders campaign

Zack Exley works with organizations, companies and movements to increase response, build community and raise money. Currently, he is serving full-time as senior advisor to the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign.

Recently, Exley served as the chief community officer and chief revenue officer at the Wikimedia Foundation, where he built a fundraising program that allowed the organization to grow from 20 to 200 employees. He was a pioneer in online fundraising and organizing. He helped bring U.S. politics online as MoveOn.org’s first organizing director, advisor to the Howard Dean campaign, and director of online communications, organizing John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign. He was the co-founder of the New Organizing Institute, a technology and strategy training center for social justice organizations.
