Why do people immigrate to America?

1:30 - 2:45 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017
PSU Ballroom West

During the Obama administration, a series of executive decisions were made to grant over 5 million undocumented immigrants protection from deportation. These decisions elicited enraged responses in the United States. Freedom of speech is one of the most important facets of our constitution, and an open-communication approach is most likely the only way to achieve a diplomatic outcome. However, we cannot talk about these types of issues if we do not have the facts.  This panel will explore the many reasons why different groups choose to immigrate, as well as the impact of immigrants on business, education and the economy.
