Many popular modern myths in America center around perceptions of minority groups. From front porches to the highest offices in the land, negative stereotypes tarnish relationships within communities and have resulted in misguided fears against our neighbors. The seeds of disunity were sown in the foundation of the nation and continue to play a divisive role today. How can we acknowledge these myths and break the chain of misinformation? What do these dis-unifying stories say about the nation we have built, and how can we begin to change the story?
