The short film "Every Child" revisits the lives of children chronicled by Claudette Riley of The Springfield News-Leader in her award-winning series about poverty in Springfield, Missouri. The film picks up six years later to examine how these lives have changed following the city-wide anti-poverty initiative "Every Child Promise" that followed from Riley's project. Produced and directed by Andrew R. Cline, professor of media, journalism and film, Missouri State University. Runtime: 15 minutes

"Joonyper" is a short film about the story of Joonyper Light, a bright young artist and new mother who lost her battle with addiction. Produced and directed by Dr. Andrew R. Cline, professor of media, journalism and film, Missouri State University. Runtime: 8 minutes

5:30-6:30 p.m. "The Road I Call Home"
In the documentary film "The Road I Call Home," photographer Randy Bacon's team, 7 Billion Ones, interviews homeless citizens of Springfield, Missouri. A variety of everyday issues affect the lives of the homeless, including lack of safe, secure and stable housing; lack of adequate health care; and substance abuse. This film explores the personal lives of individuals who face extraordinary challenges. The film is a collaboration by 7 Billion Ones and Gathering Friends for the Homeless. Runtime: 29 minutes

7-9 p.m. "@Home"
Mark Horvath has experienced homelessness firsthand. In the documentary "@Home," Horvath and his team interview homeless young people in Chicago and follow their lives. What separates the homeless from normalcy? What can you do to help? Addressing the problem of homelessness, as one viewer remarked, "takes sustained, intentional compassion." Directed and edited by Susanne Suffredin and produced by Danny Alpert. Runtime: 56 minutes
