Senior Policy Specialist
Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities
Diane Conners is senior policy specialist at Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities, a Michigan nonprofit established in 1995. The center works to protect the environment, strengthen the economy and build community.
Conners developed farm-to-school initiatives in Groundwork’s rural region in 2004 and now collaborates with advocates statewide. Recently, she coordinated a project that inspired the state legislature to invest in a matching grant program for schools to purchase Michigan-grown produce.
Previously an award-winning journalist, Conners now writes to elevate Groundwork's issues. Among her newspaper awards was a team-earned national Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for a series on rural poverty.
