Mahmoud Elsabahy

Mahmoud Elsabahy is the assistant director of the Laboratory for Synthetic-Biologic Interactions at Texas A&M University. He also serves an associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assiut University in Egypt and as the director of the Egyptian Russian University Center for Research and Educational Development. His research interests include the rational design of nanomedicine for various biomedical applications, for which he received several national and international awards.

In 2013, Elsabahy was selected among 13 young researchers worldwide as a speaker at the 63rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (Lindau, Germany). In August 2017, he was granted the Excellence Medal "First Class" by the Egyptian president. 

Elsabahy is the lead inventor of software that was licensed to Bio-Rad Laboratories in California. He also established a new Nanomedicine Center at Assiut University and participated in the planning and management of science and technology in Egypt through a membership in the Egyptian Young Academy of Science. He received his master's and doctorate degrees in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Montreal in Canada.
