United Way of the Ozarks
Greg Burris has served as president and CEO of United Way of the Ozarks since August 2019. Prior to that, he served as city manager of Springfield, Missouri, for 10 years. Before working for the city, Burris served in various roles at Missouri State University for 25 years.
He was the recipient of the 2008 O. Franklin Kenworthy Award for Outstanding Leadership, Leadership Springfield’s highest honor. He was also the recipient of the 2012 Alumni Award for Excellence in Public Affairs by Missouri State University and was inducted into the Missouri State University Wall of Fame class of 2018. Burris served as president of the Missouri City Managers Association from 2017-18. He is the founder of the Give 5 Program, which was awarded the 2019 Innovation Award by the Missouri Municipal League and the subject of articles on the PBS Next Avenue and Forbes websites.
