Alisa Garbisch has a passion to help those affected by domestic violence issues. In 2010, Alisa found a home volunteering at The Victim’s Center. She responds crisis calls to the 24-hour hotline, providing emotional support, crisis intervention, assistance with Ex Parte Orders and if needed, accompanies victims to the hospital. In addition, she serves as a mentor for new advocates and assists with the extensive training that is provided to new volunteers.
In September 2014, Alisa received the United States Presidential Award for Service by providing over 1,000 hours of service to The Victim’s Center in less than 3 years.
Through her church, Alisa volunteers in community projects and has become as a Stephen Minister, to help provide care and compassion to those experiencing difficulties.
For these reasons we are proud to recognize Alisa Garbisch as a recipient of the 2017 Staff Excellence in Community Service Award.
