Kimberly Roam - 2020 Awardee

Clinical Assistant Professor, Childhood Education & Family Studies

Combining personal and professional passions, Kim Roam, has made a collective impact on children and families throughout the Ozarks.  Both Springfield and Willard communities’ benefit from Kim’s efforts through Parents as Teachers, Ronald McDonald House, Newborns in Need, the Grands Raising Grands Support Group, Willard Schools, and numerous activities and projects planned and coordinated for Abou Ben Adhem Shrine. These programs are just a few examples of how Kim makes an impact on others through her professional skills, offering a caring heart and providing the gift of time. Kim notes that by giving a small part of yourself in service to others provides great opportunity to build new and positive relationships that may never been otherwise possible. Unexpected outcomes of her volunteerism is the impact on her students – by modeling what it means to be a CitizenBear, many of her students find a passion of their own.
