Nancy J. Evans is a professor in the student affairs program in the School of Education at Iowa State University.
Dr. Evans has served on the faculty at Penn State University, Western Illinois University and Indiana University. She has received numerous professional awards including the Voice of Inclusion, Diamond Honoree, Senior Scholar, Contribution to Knowledge and the Annuit Coeptis Senior Professional Award, all by the ACPA-College Student Educators International. In addition, Dr. Evans was presented the Legacy Award from NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
Her books include Student Development in College, Toward Acceptance: Sexual Orientation on Campus, and Facilitating the Development of Women. She is currently writing the book Disability in Higher Education: A Social Justice Approach.
Dr. Evans is married to Jim Trenberth, production manager and lighting designer in the department of music and theatre at Iowa State. She received a BS in social science from the State University of New York, College at Potsdam; MEd in higher education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale; PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and MFA in theatre (directing) from Western Illinois University.
