BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Doug Bauder

Doug Bauder is coordinator of Indiana University’s LGBT Student Support Services Office, a post he has held since 1994. He is a founding member of the National Consortium of Higher Education (LGBT Resource Professionals) and a contributor to Ronni Sanlo’s 1998 groundbreaking book “Working With LGBT College Students.” Bauder has consulted with several hundred colleges and universities regarding the establishment of LGBT centers on campus.

Bauder is co-chair of Indiana University’s Commission on Multicultural Understanding and serves on the campus Incidents Team, the MLKing Day Commission and is a former member of the Bloomington Human Rights Commission.

A proud father of two adult children and four grandchildren, Bauder has worked in the steel mills of Pennsylvania, served as a pastor and hospital chaplain in several states and worked as a rehabilitation specialist for adults with developmental and physical disabilities.
