Matt Marinec is Confidential Assistant to the Director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE). Matt graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy from Missouri State University and a Master’s of Public Policy from George Mason University. In his current role, which is a Schedule C Political Appointment in the Administration of President Barack Obama, Matt is a civil servant tasked with a myriad of responsibilities aimed at upholding the public trust. Being positioned in the leadership of an agency that oversees the Executive Branch Ethics Programs, coupled with studies in philosophy and a passion for social activism, Matt has garnered a unique perspective on ethical issues. Previously Matt served as Travel Coordinator for international non-profit Management Sciences for Health. Before that Matt lived abroad and supported the implementation of the Pharmacy Education Taskforce, working to enhance public health in developing countries. In addition to his professional endeavors, Matt is currently a Director of the South African Orphan Project, Inc. and a volunteer guitar instructor for Guitars not Guns.
