The role of ethics in addressing issues of poverty

9:30 - 10:45 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015
PSU Ballroom East

Americans believe in the ability to rise above impoverished circumstances, but there are dramatically differing opinions on how to ethically assist the millions who remain well below the line on food, home and job security. This inability to agree often reaches a level that has national and international impact. How may we move forward to address poverty in an ethical manner? What does it mean to be ethical on this issue, and how do faith and political inclination play into an individual’s opinion on the topic? What does it mean to be an ethically driven nation with regard to poverty?
