Healing Women, Healing Nations
Michelle Poitier is a 13-year U.S Navy veteran, mother, grandmother, entrepreneur, motivational speaker and advocate for female military veterans. She founded Healing Women, Healing Nations to support abused female military veterans who are survivors of domestic, sexual abuse, homelessness and post-traumatic stress disorder. The goals of this organization are to engage the community and educate women, and women veterans with children, on their benefits and resources and to empower them to persevere through their trials to accomplish their dreams. The ultimate purpose is to provide safe, stable housing to these women and their children and to help them rebuild their lives. She is the author of Releasing the Pain and a contributing writer to Queendom Magazine.
Poitier enjoys outdoor activities such as skydiving, rock climbing, mountain climbing, running and hiking. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Management at the University of Phoenix.
