Joan Della Valle began her career as a teacher, working for the New York City public schools. She spent the first 13 years teaching a variety of grades, as well as specializing in science and mathematics instruction. She spent the next seven years as a curriculum supervisor for 28 schools in her district. She then took a position as an elementary school principal where she provided leadership for 20 years.

For the last 12 years, DellaValle, co-founder of Core 21 Educational Services, has been working around the world, in American and international schools, providing graduate courses and professional development for staff members.

DellaValle is the co-author of the book “Synergy and Synthesis for Teaching in the 21st Century: A Model for Moving into Inquiry and Problem Based Learning Without Stress.”
