Rev. Katie Hays is the founding pastor of Galileo Church, a three-year-old, alt-church community for spiritual refugees. With an MDiv from Yale Divinity School and a DMin from Princeton Theological Seminary, Hays served traditional congregations for almost two decades before turning to the question of millennials and community. Galileo’s relational infrastructure is the product of her theological imagination applied to the yearnings of young adults, LGBTQ+ people and other disenfranchised people. Spiritual refugees often long for personal integration, communal depth and meaningful engagement with local and global neighbors. Galileo Church seeks to satisfy those longings by means of the Christian narrative.
