Director of Resources and Communication

Christian Mechlin is the director of resources and communication for Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc., a Maryland-based nonprofit housing developer and financial counseling agency. He is responsible for maintaining the organization’s approximately $2.5 million annual operating budget.
Previously, Mechlin served as Springfield Public School’s community resource coordinator at Robberson Community School. In this role, he developed partnerships and implemented programming ranging from after-school enrichment to wraparound family support services.
He received his bachelor's degree in philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis and his juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He has held several leadership roles with community organizations and initiatives in both Missouri and Maryland.
