Jim Harriger has been preparing for community development in Rockaway Beach, Missouri, for 49 years. Most recently, he served for 23 years as the executive director of Springfield Victory Mission, an evangelical ministry that provides help and hope to people in need. Its services include a 150-bed men’s facility that is both a recovery program and a discipleship program, as well as the second largest food pantry in the area with the only Spanish-language food pantry.
Harriger previously worked in other similar settings, such as the York Rescue Mission in York, Pennsylvania, and the International Gospel Mission. With his wife, Mary, he now serves on the staff of Bridge of Faith Community Church in Rockaway Beach and as the director of the White River Community Development Corporation.
