Prison pipeline: Minorities and the law

Although Lady Justice is said to be blind, research shows that criminal cases involving minority people are often met with a heavier hand. Minority youth, especially from the African American community, have a higher chance of being introduced to the prison system. How does this “pipeline” go against our foundation of liberty and justice for all? How can America, as a nation, address the injustices against minority groups found in our judicial system to create the unity and harmony our communities need?
