Big data is becoming an integral part of individual lives and societies -- from the grocery store to social media to systems of care, data is everywhere! This evolution has had positive influences on both the individual and the macro-level systems in which individuals function. However, with big data comes big responsibility. As data becomes increasingly intertwined with the details of our lives, how do we balance the individual and the system? How do preserving individual privacy, ensuring equal access to technology and maintaining human connection in a big data world play out? How will these trends change the future?
