Born in a tiny mid Missouri town, Macey Hurst recognized from the beginning her passion and the struggles that would accompany it. Agriculture was a way of life for her family and neighbors. They dedicated their lives to caring for land and animals to feed the world, and Hurst knew that lifestyle and those individuals needed to be protected.
A 2019 graduate of Missouri State University, Hurst earned bachelor’s degrees in agricultural communications and agriculture business-marketing and sales. Since then, she has been raising beef cattle with her mother and sister, writing stories, using social media and facilitating conversations that bridge the divides from rural to urban, legislator to constituent, producer to consumer, as well as from one culture to another to ensure the continuation of her beloved lifestyle, as well as the physical and mental well-being of all who grow and consume America’s food.
