In search of bonds
All times listed are central time (CT).
Humans are instinctively drawn to others for support. When that support fades and social bonds shrink, divisions can emerge. Those divisions may result in racial, social, political and economic clashes. At the heart of the lack of unity and civility in contemporary society is the need to improve communication. With social divisiveness on the rise, how do people find their way to civil discourse? What forms of communication are used to manipulate and exploit civility, and how can they be changed? How may the use of language and dialect create bonds rather than divisions? What impact can the humanities and the arts have on communication and harmony among individuals, families and a nation?
