Technology, travel, and international business have shrunk physical and social boundaries making the world more interconnected than ever before.  In today’s world, people from different cultures and backgrounds interact frequently and on multiple levels. What does it mean to be interculturally competent now? If cultural competence is a key skill for navigating the future of both work and communications, what tools or skills are needed to develop it?  If, as research has shown, happy and healthy relationships are key to maintaining mental, physical, and spiritual health, how can we benefit from more diverse relationships in a richly multicultural world? How can successful relationships be built across national, political, socio-economic, religious, and cultural differences?
