Millie Cordaro

Dr. Millie Cordaro is a trauma-informed applied developmental psychologist, therapist, and Professor of Instruction in the Department of Psychology at Texas State University.

In addition to her teaching vocation, Dr. Cordaro is an author and writing her forthcoming book, Cultivating A Daily Mental Health Practice. She is a researcher and speaker. Dr. Cordaro’s research interests have included the study of traumatic stressor events, and the impacts of generalized anxiety and major depression disorders on the general population.

Her most impactful research spans the intersections of mental health, compassion fatigue and burnout in higher education and healthcare institutions with high impact articles for the American Psychological Association, opening keynotes and invited experiential talks culminating in guided meditations to cultivate resilience with live, large audiences.

In 2022, Dr. Cordaro completed her 500-hour yoga teacher training. She maintains a personal meditation and yoga practice while utilizing gratitude, loving-kindness and self-compassion as part of her daily mental health routine.
