Dr. Abhilash Panda is the Deputy Chief of the Intergovernmental, Interagency, and Partnerships Branch at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). He leads global initiatives on financing risk prevention, de-risking investments, resilient infrastructure, and recovery strategies aligned with the “Build Back Better” agenda. He also spearheads UNDRR’s engagement in the G20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group and is the architect of the Network of Corporate Chief Resilience Officers—a pioneering global alliance advancing resilience across multi-sector supply chains.

With over 18 years of experience in international development, Dr. Panda has worked at the intersection of disaster risk governance, crisis management, humanitarian response, and sustainable development. He has led multi-country programmes, and advised governments, development banks, and private sector on embedding resilience into investment planning and infrastructure systems.

Since joining the United Nations in 2003, Dr. Panda has held leadership roles across Asia, Europe, and global operations, managing diverse teams and forging strategic partnerships.

He holds a PhD from the University of Huddersfield (UK), a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Bachelor's in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
