Despite significant advancements in STEM fields, there remains a stark disparity between the number of career men and women in disciplines such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Archaeology, Biological Sciences, and other STEM subjects. Women in STEM frequently encounter substantial challenges, including explicit and implicit gender biases, wage disparities, limited career advancement opportunities, and a pronounced lack of mentorship and peer support networks.  These factors and others can help lead to higher attrition rates among women in STEM careers and compared to their male counterparts and bring feelings of isolation and lack of peer support - crucial for building resilience. While various initiatives are being undertaken to address these issues, it continues to be a challenge. What role does the educational environment play in encouraging or discouraging women in STEM fields?  What impact does workplace culture have on the retention of women in STEM careers?  Are mentorship programs effective in meeting the challenges faced?  What steps can be taken to ensure that efforts to bridge the gender gap in STEM are sustainable and impactful?
