Campfire
Steven Harowitz’s story starts around a campfire. Growing up in Palm City, FL, he noticed what happened when people gathered: conversations got real, stories came out, and something genuine passed between people. Theater, TV production, and an overcrowded college activities calendar later, he had built a real skillset in storytelling, public speaking, and facilitation, without yet realizing he was refining the tools to recreate that same gathering spirit.
Now, living in St. Louis, MO, Steven runs Campfire, the organization he founded to keep that spirit alive. He trains people and values-driven organizations in storytelling, public speaking, and group facilitation, helping them find their voice, build real connection, and shape what happens next. At the core of everything is a conviction he has carried since childhood: that bringing people together for genuine connection is one of the most important things we can offer one another.
Campfire teaches public speaking, storytelling, and group facilitation.
We create spaces where people gather, share real stories, and have thoughtful conversations. That work starts long before anyone steps into a room. We help people shape their stories, build their skills, and feel ready to show up. If you’ve ever sat around a good campfire, you know the feeling: people leaning in, listening closely, and leaving with something to carry with them. That’s the kind of experience we design, whether it’s a live event, a class, or work with a team.
