Dedicated: The Case for Commitment in an Age of Infinite Browsing
Join writer and civic advocate Pete Davis for an inspiring exploration of how genuine community and meaningful connection can transform our lives—during college and long after graduation. Drawing from his acclaimed book Dedicated: The Case for Commitment in an Age of Infinite Browsing and his award-winning 2023 documentary Join or Die, Davis offers a powerful call to action: to move beyond passive participation and become active contributors to the communities that shape us.
Through engaging storytelling and thought-provoking research, Davis will challenge students to invest deeply in the people and places around them, to step outside their familiar circles, and to embrace the commitments that give life purpose. His insights illuminate our theme, The We Factor: Building Connections that Matter, and invite attendees to reflect on how intentional engagement can strengthen both personal growth and the broader social fabric.
This is a session for anyone seeking inspiration, direction, and a renewed sense of what it means to belong. Don’t miss the chance to be part of a conversation that could reshape how you think about community—and your role within it.
