Vice President for Academic Affairs, Fontbonne University
Dr. Carey Adams is vice-president for academic affairs and professor of communication at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO. He oversees the university’s academic programs, curriculum assessment, educational policy and academic accreditation, as well as faculty engagement in student success, enrollment and retention. Previously, Adams served as provost and vice-president for academic affairs at Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia, and in several roles at Missouri State University, including dean of the College of Arts and Letters and head of the Department of Communication. He has studied and practiced public dialogue as a means of promoting high quality communication and building community in the public arena.
Adams earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Religion from William Jewell College, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Baylor University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas.
