Considering the elements of a healthy community

Access to nutrition and health care are essential to healthy communities. What factors, economic, social, and otherwise, facilitate such access? What impedes it? Are the causes of community health constant across communities, or do they vary, depending on local circumstances? What is the role of community institutions—government, schools, not-for-profits, religion and the private commercial sector—in promoting healthy communities?
