Connie Schlittler is director of the Office of Planning, Research and Statistics (OPRS) for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. The OPRS is responsible for grant writing, program evaluation and statistical reports for the agency. As a successful grant writer, she has secured $12.6 million in federal funds for the agency in the areas of aging, foster care, child care and information technology.
Currently, Schlittler is the project director of the Road to Independence Network, a two-year planning grant to improve adult outcomes for youth that are exiting foster care. She initiated the Practice and Policy Lecture Series in 2007 and Oklahoma’s Women’s Leadership Conference for Women in Public Service in 2009. Schlitter has degrees in social work and public administration from the University of Oklahoma. In 2013, she was appointed by Governor Mary Fallin to the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers. She is president of the National Association of Social Workers, Oklahoma Chapter and 2015 Social Worker of the Year.
