“Water, water every where, nor any drop to drink”
This line, written in 1798, in "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"by Samuel Taylor Coleridge is perhaps more true now than when written. With only a small percentage of the earth’s water considered drinkable, America is facing a great crisis. How do we preserve and protect our limited supply while also supporting economic growth and agricultural needs? Who controls water rights and establishes the priorities of water usage? How can we better educate our population towards conservation? How might government involvement solve the challenge either through infrastructure investments or establishing penalties for over-use? How can we meet our unquenchable thirst for fresh water?
