Student spirituality, campus ministries and academic resilience

9:00 - 10:15 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016

For at least the past decade, college professors and academic advisers have been noting declining academic and personal resilience among students. What are the causes of this declining resilience? What is the role, if any, of campus ministries in paying attention to and supporting students in academic and personal crisis situations, and thus in contributing to student success? How might the spirituality of students who describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious” be tapped as a source of strength in academic and personal crisis situations?
