Americans spend less per person for food than most developed countries, yet we suffer from high rates of poor nutrition-driven diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. Is it possible to create access to healthy local foods at an affordable price for all Americans, or are these choices open only to those who can afford them? How may consumers be educated to make healthier choices for their families? What role do farmers markets play in creating accessibility? How does the practice of locally sourcing food benefit the local economy?
