Senior Vice President of Governance and Compliance
United Soybean Board
As United Soybean Board's senior vice president of governance and compliance, Darryl Chatman, JD directs, administers and coordinates the activities of the organization for overall compliance of the board. He also provides parliamentary and legal guidance at all board, executive committee, and audit and evaluation meetings. He's the executive staff liaison to the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), engaging in direct outreach and relationship development with AMS and other departments as needed.
Since 2008, Chatman has split time as an attorney at Armstrong Teasdale LLP and Spencer Fane LLP, and in various roles at the Missouri Department of Agriculture. While at the Department of Agriculture, he served as deputy director in 2015. In 2017, he served as general counsel for the department. He has multiple degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia, including a bachelor's and master's in animal science, a master's in agricultural economics and a doctorate in law. He also has a Master of Public Administration in public policy analysis from North Carolina State University.
