Where the Arts Become Community

2:00 - 2:50 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2026
Live Zoom Webinar

Our cities are living studios and stages—spaces where creative expression, civic life, and democratic ideals intersect. The arts are laboratories of imagination and dialogue, where ideas are explored, challenged, and reimagined in public. By using artistic practice and education to spark conversation, reflection, and solutions, the impact on communities can be vibrant, innovative, and forward-thinking. As artists and students move from training into professional and civic roles, opportunities emerge not only to lead creatively, but to inspire and empower others to see themselves as active cultural stakeholders.  How can thoughtful dialogue, multiple perspectives, and even disagreement be essential to a healthy arts ecosystem?  What does it look like when creativity becomes a shared responsibility?  How might deeper dialogue and collaboration help our communities thrive?  How can creative expression help communities imagine new possibilities and address shared challenges?
