Dr. Karleah Harris received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Dr. Harris has taught several undergraduate and graduate courses.
She has worked with Pre-K12 students, teachers, principals, stakeholders, and grandparents’ raising grandchildren in the community. Her research interests include using inquiry-based science learning to study kindergarten students’ explanations, the types of discourse strategies teachers use during classroom science discourse, children with learning disabilities, culturally responsive teaching, grandparenting, horticulture therapy, food deserts, and gardening.
