Julie Beck is a staff writer at The Atlantic, and is the creator of the interview series, The Friendship Files. She was the host of "How to Talk to People," the 4th season of The Atlantic’s "How To" podcast. In her decade-plus career as a journalist, she has covered relationships, science, culture and health. She is currently writing a book about friendship for Thesis, an imprint of Penguin Random House. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and lives in Washington, D.C.
