Live Zoom Webinar

In a society marked by polarization, cultural complexity, and rapid social change, empathy and perspective-taking are essential. But, these traits require attention, discipline, and courage.  Engaging with those who are different than oneself is a powerful act and can strengthen community, deepen a shared sense of purpose, and improve reasoning and creativity.  In turn, this helps to understand the out-group, practice intellectual humility (admission that we might be wrong), and enhance a collaborative capacity for progress.?Why does it seem harder to practice empathy in today’s social and political climate than in the past? What techniques can boost empathy and perspective-taking in our daily lives?  How is individual expression practiced for meaningful dialogue?  What environment is needed to begin bridging divides?
