Researcher and activist
Lilias Jones Jarding is a researcher and activist who has worked in coalitions to successfully oppose unwise nuclear and energy-related projects in the upper midwest and mountain states since 1979.
Currently, she works as coordinator for Black Hills Clean Water Alliance, evaluation director for Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation and a faculty member at Oglala Lakota College.
She has a Ph.D. in political science with an emphasis on environmental policy from Colorado State University and a master’s in public and human services administration from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. She has received a number of awards for her scholarship and community service.
